Solid Results at the Uardry Foundation Sale

The dusty conditions did not deter buyers at the 2008 Uardry Foundation Sale at Hay on September 23. Lot 1 kicked-off the sale recording the top price of $5500. The auction continued strongly with a total clearance for the 124 rams offered, averaging $1229.
The top priced ram was secured by longstanding Uardry client, Geoff Hines of Milvale, Victoria. The large framed Uardry ram, 7.270, had a micron of 20.65, 3.34 standard deviation, 16.02 co-efficient variation, and a 99.1% comfort factor. Mr Hines was also successful in purchasing Lot 3, a Sims Uardry ram for $3800.
The second top sale price was $4000 which was paid for two Sims Uardry rams, Lot 3 and Lot 90. Buyers were Fletcher International, Dubbo and Wyuna stud, Armatree respectively. Fletcher International purchased 6 rams in total with an average of $2533.
The sale consisted mainly of volume buyers. These included Tubbo Livestock, Darlington Point who purchased 17 rams with an average of $1077. North Tuppal Pastoral Co. Finley and Fareham Pastoral Co at Girilambone each purchased 11 rams. Nick Moore's property at Yeoval bought 8 rams to a top of $1300, and Woodlea Farming, Balladoran secured 7 rams to a top of $1800 and average of $1500. Malcolm Lewis of Tullibigeal, Merritop Pastoral Company, and the Macdonald family of Bloomfield, Blackall each purchased 6 rams to a top of $1200. M & K Davies traveled from Coonabarabran to secure 5 rams to a top of $1800 and average of $1460. Rob and Penny Bull, Narrandera also purchased 5 rams to a top of $1700.
