Uardry Merino stud was honoured to take out the Gordon Uebergang Memorial trophy at the 2011 Hamilton Sheepvention held on 1 August. In a field of 340 Merino and Dohne rams, it was a Sims Uardry Poll ram that claimed the Judges Choice title for best ram in the shed.
This extremely well balanced Poll ram was later auctioned and sold to Jim and Rob Kilpatrick of Great Western, Victoria for $5000. The Kilpatricks were also successful in securing a second Sims Uardry Poll ram for $5000. Paul and Felicity Brady of Stavely Park, and Greg Ray of Warawee Pastoral Company, Kyalite each purchased a Sims Uardry Poll for $2000.
The Uardry Dohnes drew much interest at the sale for their size, scale and exceptional wool quality. Uardry Dohne kicked off the auction with Lot 1 being knocked down to Joe Kilpatrick of Great Western, Victoria for $2200. New clients Shane and Jodie Foster; and Ian Nicholas of Banambra each took home a ram for $2000. The Winning family of Bolland also secured a Uardry Dohne ram for $2000.
